So there's a good friend of mine named Brandon Thompson whom I work with and he asked me to listen to some stuff he's been working on. So I used the link he gave me to visit his myspace music page and I really did like it. He's got alot of talent that I think will be widely enjoyed. He fits into the category of good hip-hop such as artists like common, nas, and lupe fiasco. I feel that artists such as these are very scarce these days, seems like most of the new stuff coming out is more so rap which I believe to be very different. What I like about Hip-hop is more often the song actually has a subject rather then just a repeated phrase or someone talking about how rich they are and what size their rims are. So I just wanted to take the time to share this guy with fellow bloggers to help him get a little publicity. His MC name is Bstar and his label is called Upright Lions. He has an album available for purchase if you google his name so be sure and check that out if you like what you hear. Thanks for reading!!

Graceland by Paul Simon

Ok so this song is one of my all-time favorites. By the great Paul Simon, some of you may know him from Simon and Garfunkle. This song is off the album that shares the title Graceland. In the mid 80's Paul Simon went to Africa and produced this album with many African singers and musicians. The whole album is full of the rich sounds of Africa. I highly recommend this album to everybody looking for relaxing music as well as upbeat music at the same time. So listen for yourself and let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

My Goal
Other then just expressing thoughts I have decided I need to have some sort of purpose to this blog. Something to atleast draw readers back to it. This may be an idea that is nothing new...in fact i'm sure it is, but! I am going to share a song a day, completely random just whatever song is stuck in my head for that day, and I will make it available for download. I'll try to give a little info on the song, it's artist, and my oppinion on the piece. I would also love to hear oppinions from people who listen to the songs i suggest...so feel free to comment. Thanks!
Little Bit of an Intro
First of all I would like to point out that this is my first attempt at blogging. I'm kinda excited to finally endelve myself in the blogging world that has become so popular. The first thing I thought about is what in the world would I make a blog about. I mean what is so important in my life that i could make a whole page about it. After a few minutes of thinking it was pretty obvious my choice was music. Music absolutely makes up one of the biggest parts of my life. Ever since I was a little kid this has been the case, im 20 now, so that's alot of music i've listened to over the years. I think it is so interesting how music is so different for all types of people. It's almost like musical taste is inscribed in your genetics. One key piece of evidence for this I believe is your taste in music. My taste is alot like that of my fathers. I pretty much like a little bit of everything, but I always seem to fall back to the 80's hits and the oldie goldie classics. At the same time you could say it's just because that's what I grew up listening to. But at the same time alot of artists my dad repeated when I was a child I still can't stand haha, but the basis is there as far as my taste against his. I could go on for days on the whole idea of music in invdividuals lives in this little introduction here but that wouldn't be very sufficial...it would leave me with very little else to write about. So I will leave it at that. A little basic info on me, my name is Jordan Reid, I live in Greensboro, North Carolina, I am in the process of joining the United States Air Force, and i'm looking forward to the world of blogging. I would love some feedback! Thanks!!
